Ranee (Lei) Yang , clarinet, graduated with a Master's Degree in Music Performance from UNI.
Throughout her music career she has performed in many concerts with symphony orchestras,
chamber music groups, and recitals in China, Germany, Italy, and the United States. Ranee also
graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. She has worked with the
Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and Guangzhou Symphony
Orchestra for many years. She has performed at the National Center for the Performing Arts
(NCPA), and the National Grand Theatre in Beijing. Ranee's major is clarinet performance and her
minor field is piano. She won an international award scholarship at UNI, and also was a scholarship
winner at CCOM in Beijing. Ranee also won the competition in the international clarinet festival in
Beijing, China in 1998. In the US, she was awarded the position of substitute clarinet in the Quad
City Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoys performing and singing in church.

Currently, Ranee enjoys teaching clarinet and piano. She has been teaching students since she
was in college. She loves teaching and playing all kinds of beautiful music such as classical, jazz,
and contemporary music. Ranee has been a member of Iowa Chamber Music Collective since 2020.
